BALI #FOODCHELLA TRIP

During earlier Mid-June, I had the chance to fly off to Bali again, this time with the @foodinhands team, @kamikita.id and also other influencers as well as celebrities. With people from Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bali itself joining in the fun.

We flew in to Bali on June 15th, Reggy and I arrived the earliest since we took the 6 A.M. flight with Sriwijaya Air, along with the Surabaya team who came in several moments after we landed.
Upon gathering at the airport, we went straight ahead to our first lodging during our trip to check in, which is the Jambuluwuk Hotel located at Petitenget.

A quick look at the place made us fall in love instantly with it! Everything feels so serene and peaceful, even though it is pretty near to the crowded area of Petitenget.

After checking in our luggages and taking a quick rest, we went down to an artisan gourmet cuisine restaurant right beside our hotel, which is called Frestro. This restaurant serves one of the finest international cuisine infused with the soul of Bali.

Since we arrived early, we had the chance to enjoy the various meals served firsthand while waiting for the rest of the participants to arrive.

Listed below are some of the foods that we had at Frestro.

I got to say, the foods here are pretty amazing, the steak was very tender and the burger was pretty good as well. However, the pasta didn't appeal much to me though. (Probably it was overshadowed by other dishes we had)
But everything else was fine as well!

After everyone have had their lunch at Frestro, and checked in to Jambuluwuk Hotel, we proceeded to the S.K.A.I Beach Club for the sunset. It was so exciting as we get to travel around in style with the hip and chic retro Volkswagen Kombi Limo!

The Volkswagen Kombi was very spacious with a built in chiller within it to store our favourite beverages as well, now how cool is that?!

If you would like to go for a whole day trip and tour, it would cost you approximately around USD 800 per day. There are several different colors to choose from, such as the yellow one that we rode in, the red one, and also purple one. There might be other colors available as well, but I am not too sure about it.
To experience a chic ride like us, you can check them out and book yourselves a ride as well through:

Travelling around in the VW Limo made us feel like time flies very fast! Cause of all the fun we had inside the car, from singing, playing games, to live streaming, everything is possible with the spacious interior of the ride!

Sunset then came pretty soon after. With several lite bites and drink served by S.K.A.I Beach Club, don't you think that lounging by the pool while witnessing the sun set feels very chill and romantic?

As the sun sets furthermore to the faraway horizon, we continued our trip to head for dinner in the outer space. Oops, I meant, Cosmic Diner!
I mean, with a theme like this, one could easily mistake that we just teleported back in time to a diner in the sixties in New York. How adorable!

This diner was opened in 2012, and aside from their adorable interior, they are also well-known for their delectable milkshakes and burgers!
I had the ribs, and they were awesome as well. I seriously have nothing to complain about over here.

They also provide a variety of games such as UNO Cards, UNO Stacko, and many others here that you can play along with your friends while you wait for your meal or simply anytime really!

Long story cut short for the day, we had fun at the various places that we visited. Had great food, as well as took a lot of photos while joking around with one another. After dinner, we went straight back to our hotel at Jambuluwuk Resort again to rest for the next day with the Volkswagen Kombi Limo like a boss (or should I say, like bosses).

Celebrating International Women's Day and Hosting My Food Photography Workshop

March 8th is widely celebrated as International Women's Day all around the world, including here in Jakarta, Indonesia.
This year, along with Accenture, a company which moves within the management consultation industry, I have collaborated with them to deliver a Food Photography Workshop for the International Women's Day Celebration event dedicated to the employees.

So through this post, I would like to share a little bit of my activity and what I did to celebrate this wonderful day as well as my thought about it.
This celebration was held on Friday, March 10th 2017 at the Function Hall of Citywalk Sudirman, which started from noon until the evening. The event began with a panelist discussion which consisted of female entrepreneurs and motivators. It was amazing to see how times have changed now and how the current working industry celebrates women more, trusting their abilities to hold positions equal to men. I am sure this brings a greater balance to the whole working ambience with men and women working together, each conquering the problems they face with their own unique capabilities.

And through this day, the committee of the event would also like to enhance the knowledge and(or) talent of the female employees by holding workshops, another way to empower women even more with better knowledge. There were three workshops held with different topics to cover, the Food Photography Workshop, Coffee Latte Art Workshop, and Sushi Making Workshop.
And as what I have stated, I would be covering the Food Photography Workshop, while Nino Fernandez, an Indonesian Actor would be covering the Coffee Latte Art Workshop, and we had an expert chef for the Sushi Making Workshop.

The participants had the choice of choosing which workshop they would like to attend when they received the invitation. So everything was organized well and went smoothly.
As I got on to my station, I was amazed to see that there were quite a number of people who are actually interested in food photography. I was super pepped up to share my experiences and what I have learnt over the years of being in the blogger industry as well as my knowledge on food photography.
Of course, if I was asked whether I was nervous or not, I would be lying if I said no. At one point, I was afraid that I might not be experienced or knowledgeable enough to "guide" them. But thanks to the participants' appreciation and proactive attitude, I soon got over it and felt comfortable speaking in front of the crowd.

I divided the workshop into two different sections, the part where I share some guides, tricks and talk about my experiences along with how I do things, and the part where I let the participants practice the photo taking process by themselves. Participants were also welcome to put up any questions for me to answer regarding photography problems that they face or simply curious about.

You really can't unsee the heart shape that we unintentionally made, can you?

I would like to convey my gratitude and thank you so much to all of the participants who have taken part in my Food Photography Workshop! I appreciate it a lot, and I hope that I managed to help you all answer your queries with satisfying responses.

Another thing which instantly put a smile up on my face was when a committee came up to me telling me that she went around asking the participants how my workshop went, and the participants actually said that I was very professional and they were satisfied to have learnt a lot through this.
It was very gratifying and I felt like there was a sense of accomplishment within me, to be able to share and help others to become better. Now for those of you all who are reading this, I would like to let you know on how are also able to do good deed, try to compliment someone or give credit for whenever they do something good, you'll never know how good it can make someone feel and brighten up their day.

What did you do during International Women's Day? Did you celebrate it, and if you did, how was it? Share it with us down below!
And through this chance, I would like to wish you all a Happy Belated International Women's Day by the time this post comes out. May all genders be equal and cherished without any prejudice nor discrimination. Here's to wish us all reach a brighter future ahead! Cheers!

P.S. Sorry for the low quality images within this post as the lighting was pretty dim inside the hall.

Mustika Ratu Slimming Tea; Fit and Health Bloggers Gathering

As I tend to visit a lot of different restaurants and trying a wide variety of foods almost every single day, I can say that the risk of me gaining weight is pretty big. Especially when I hardly exercise to burn off those extra calories.
I have always been worried and self-conscious about it, and been planning to properly maintain my body weight to a proportionate number but of course, it is mostly only thought out and yet hardly executed in a proper way.

Fortunately my current body weight is just right and I don't need to worry too much. But sometimes, I just can't rid the thought of getting obese out of my mind due to my huge appetite.
Earlier this month, my friend asked me to sign up for a gym membership at one of the gym clubs here in Jakarta together with him, and so I did.

AND THEN, I FELT LIKE THIS MUST BE A SIGN FROM ABOVE TO TELL ME TO TAKE CARE OF MY WEIGHT!

Not long after, I got invited to this bloggers gathering event held by Dream.co.id x Mustika Ratu at Twin House, Cipete. The main purpose of this event was to introduce their slimming products and also to point out that guys can also consume slimming products as well.

I MEAN, JOINING THE GYM AND SLIMMING PRODUCT INTRODUCTION TO ME, COINCIDENCE MUCH?

This must be a sign.
*Looks down at my belly*
Yes, indeed.

Fast forward to the D-Day of the event, upon arrival, we were seated at our own pre-arranged seats, not many familiar faces were seen from the usual bloggers gathering events that I go to, and so I simply sat awkwardly on my seat.

Le awkward lunch moment, and I finished everything off my plate!
